Just bought: Boori Country Classic Cot & LG 42″ LCD TV 42LD560

Okay so these are not online purchases but I did a great deal of online research before I bought them.

Boori Country Classic Cot

in white from Baby Zone Wollongong for $552 + Boori breathable mattress $136

I won’t be getting them for another 5-6 weeks so this is the picture of the display cot in the shop.

I looked around online, this is the cheapest one around and also the shop is local so I decided to go for it. I didn’t want to get a Boori cot initially because the price is more expensive than other brands and also a lot of people say Kingparrot is made by the same company and it’s as good. But when my husband and I browsed the shop, we really liked this style so we went for it. The price is not too bad compared to some other Boori models and it’s $150 more expensive compared to Kingparrot model I wanted. It’s not bad considering Boori is bigger and feels smoother and well, we like the style.

LG 42″ LCD TV 42LD560

We went for LG because it’s  a lot cheaper compared to other brand for the same thing. Most of our electronics are LG so we’re happy with it.

We got it for $1160 + Wi-Fi dongle for $70 from The Good Guys Warrawong. We went to Bing Lee first and the best price they could give us was $1200 for the TV unless we can get a better quote from somewhere else. I never liked how Bing Lee works, it just feels insincere. We indicated we would like to get it today but that was the best they could give us.  We read in some forum that someone bought it for $1159 from The Good Guys so we felt Bing Lee wasn’t really giving us the best price. Also, they didn’t have one in stock in the shop so we couldn’t get it on the spot. So we went to The Good Guys which has been our favourite electronic shop and we were given $1170. After saying we seriously wanted it today they gave it to us for $1160. We were happy with that price and decided to give our business to them for giving us good price. They had it in stock so we can straightaway went home with it which is another plus point.

We have set the TV up and so far very happy with everything. It was easy to assemble and setup. We had old fashioned TV before so this is a HUGE upgrade. It can connect directly to YouTube (once the Wi-Fi was setup), I can connect my netbook to it,  it can stream media files straight from external HD, and of course HD movies look HD in it XD

It has 100Hz refresh rate which is a lot better than the cheaper model but not much difference from the more expensive model which refresh rate is  200 Hz (the guy in the shop showed us the difference).

So far we’re very happy with this TV.

Finally arrived: Wonder Girls 2DT EP + Shop Review: wondergirlsmerch.com

I preordered Wonder Girls US debut album back in September but the release date is getting pushed back so many times that noone knows for sure when it’s actually coming. However, they released a new single and everyone who preordered the non-existent full album is getting the single for free.

A month after the single was officially released, mine never arrived. I emailed the customer service a couple of times and was told they have been mailed. It doesn’t help that the customer service is a one-liner man. S/he really needs to work on his/her email mannerism. When I was about to give up and accept the fact I will never get my CDs, I emailed them asking if there was a tracking number by any chance. The reply I received was a one line message saying they’ve mailed me another batch. I checked my account on the site and this time it has tracking number. Tracking number was useless though, it didn’t really track anything but two weeks later the CDs arrived.

Although they’ve proven themselves trustworthy, I would seriously think again before ordering from them again (http://www.wondergirlsmerch.com/). The one-liner customer service made me frustrated and they seem to be slow when handling overseas orders. Next time, I would just buy from YesAsia.

Just bought + just arrived: Kara Sweet Muse Gallery DVD with english sub

I love Kara but I don’t follow them as much as I do with Wonder Girls. Kara girls have entertaining personalities so I watch them quite a bit. When I found out they have an english subbed DVD coming out I had a huge dillema. I’ve told myself to not buy Kpop items unnecessarily anymore but I just couldn’t resist DVDs with english subbed. I checked the content of the DVD, most of them I have not watched (since I only recently got into them). It also comes with a photobook which makes it more tempting since Kara girls are really pretty!

I took my time thinking about it. It costs US$59.99 with 6 posters and $49.99 without posters in YesAsia. The posters are pretty but I don’t think I have the space to stick all of them. So I decided I don’t need the posters. Converted US$49.99 to AUD, it came out over $60 so I waited a bit more hoping AUD gets stronger.

Maybe it’s a sign or just pure coincedence, I saw a random ad on LiveJournal about an Australian online Asian DVD shop that I never heard before. So I clicked on it. Turned out it’s an online shop for a well-known offline store in Melbourne called Sunstar. I browsed through their collection and sure enough they had the Kara DVD box I was after. The price was $56 including shipping AUD! (they offer free shipping for or der above $35).

I was delighted and excited that I had to buy it XD

I bought it yesterday afternoon and guess what, this morning it’s arrived. Wow.

The shop is called Media-Asia. Their prices are reasonable so if you live in Australia and love Asian entertainment, this site may be your one stop solution if you prefer to shop locally. Their prices are not always cheaper than YesAsia, but quite reasonable considering you don’t have to wait 2 weeks like when you order from YesAsia.

Shopping List

Learnt from a good friend. I now have a wishlist, or rather, a shopping list xD

Update regarding the belly dance costume, it didn’t arrive on time, the seller was really good and refunded me the money yet still sent me the costume. However, everything turned out way too big, especially the top, so I ended up giving it away. But the quality is really good! I just don’t have enough goods on the top to fill it. The skirt has elastic waist so it’s a good idea to give a measurement a little smaller than your size.

Just arrived: Orange hip scarf

I received the orange hip scarf from this seller, but not the dress from this seller. It seems like it won’t come on time. I paid for express shipping but still didn’t come on time. Not happy. The seller offered a full refund though. Let’s see if I really get a full refund.

The orange hipscarf is really pretty! It’s as vibrant as the picture, and actually looks prettier. I’m very happy with it. I’ll post picture later.

Just arrived: mushroom chair and a couple more plushies

mushroomchair_arrive

Just got them today in the mail! So exciting! I picked air mail this time and it’s as fast as EMS! I probably won’t bother with EMS next time.

I’ll write a product review on the mushroom chair in a few days after I fully utilise it!
